The Brotherfield Mennonite Immigrants were "...at the forefront in fashion" when Louis R Conradi came to Dakota Territory in November of 1881. He stayed until the summer of 1883 converting many German speaking immigrants to Adventism. About half then returned to their MB congregations, while the Adventists migrated to North Dakota, settling finally in New Home, south of Sykeston. Their first meetings were held in an abandoned sod house on the Mary Wall farm. The church they built in 1903 burned to the ground in 1953. When their new church was completed this History of the Church was read at the 1954 dedication. Original Letter |
